Yesterday for her birthday, we gave our daughter her very own portable mp3 player. For a while now, she’s talked about how much she wanted to have one so that she could listen to the music that she wants. That is as opposed to having to listen to the music on my portable mp3 player on the rare occasion that I let her borrow it. Finally, when I found one for a great price online, I decided that it would be the perfect opportunity to give her the portable mp3 player that she wanted, plus it would make a great birthday gift.
My daughter and I also tend to tease each other quite a bit, so yesterday I didn’t give her the portable mp3 player until after dinner. I’d given her a lovely sweater and card, and she seemed more than happy with that as her gift. We generally don’t give much more than that for her birthday, so she had no idea that I’d ordered her the mp3 player. You should have seen the look on her face when I handed it to her. She hugged me and ran off to the computer to start adding music to it.
